it's taking 1 more second compare to the shortcut (Windows+E), I mean opening directory opus by the shortcut is like opening the native file explorer, do I have a bad settings?
If no windows are open, clicking the taskbar button will run a new instance of dopus.exe.
If Opus is already running in the background, that new instance will find the existing one and ask it to open a new window, after which the new instance exits.
Launching a new process is slower than sending a message directly to the existing one to tell it to open a window.
Double-clicking the desktop wallpaper is a good alternative, if no windows are open, Opus is running in the background, and you want an instant way to open one via the mouse.
but i have Opus to run in the background! it's always on Windows startup, always running in the background. how come it's not asking the already existing background .EXE to open the program faster, am i missing something?
That's how the Windows taskbar works. If you click the button for something that doesn't have a window open, it runs that program.
so the only solution is enable desktop double click?
Or use the tray icon or one of the hotkeys.
Although, if it is taking long enough that it makes a big difference, I would look at whether your virus scanner is what’s causing most of the delay, as that’s something that can make launching a process take a lot longer.
its taking exactly one second to fully opne Opus when launching in taskbar, but when using the shortcut key it will load in 0.10 second, it feels like instant.
Is there any way that I can create a .bat file or any shortcut on the screen that run the tray icon or the windows+e shortcut when I double click it?
