Windows 11 - mounting ISO files by double clicking

Hello,

I experience some problems with mounting ISO files in Windows 11 by double clicking them.
When I right click them and select "mount" everything works fine but when I double click them nothing happens.
I started experience this problem recently (my current Directory Opus version is 13.25).

My ISO file handler is the standard "Windows.IsoFile" and I can confirm that mounting works from Windows Explorer by both double clicking and right clicking on the file and selecting "mount".

I wrote some simple WinAPI program to test few things, and I figured out that this not work on my system:
ShellExecute(nullptr, L"mount", path_to_iso, nullptr, nullptr, SW_SHOW);
But this work:
ShellExecute(nullptr, L"open", L"explorer.exe", path_to_iso, nullptr, SW_SHOW);
(but "mount" is the default verb, per Windows 11 defaults).

Strangely enough, overriding ISO file left double click in Settings -> File Types with "{filepath}" works (so I'll use this for now as workaround).

Does anyone else experience this problem?
Is this some kind of bug?
I remember that this worked few months ago so either some Windows Update messed something or Directory Opus changed something in handling ISO files.

Thanks.

I had the same problem on Windows 11. I was still on DOpus version 13.13 and only recently updated to 13.25, but the problem persisted.

One thing worth mentioning is that I'm using the German versions of both Windows 11 and DOpus. Interestingly, the context menu showed "Mount" for me, even though the German translation should actually be "Bereitstellen", just like in Explorer.

I then tried to fix the registry entry, thinking it might be broken, and had AI create a new default entry for me. This also allowed me to change the text and icon of the Mount command in the context menu. However, double-clicking an .iso file in DOpus still did nothing.

So I took a closer look at Settings > File Types. On the AI’s recommendation, I changed the Left Double Click action for .iso files to:

@runmode:hide
powershell.exe -NoProfile -Command "Mount-DiskImage -ImagePath '{filepath}'"

Maybe this is a dumb solution, and it was probably not the best idea to ask AI for help in the first place, but at least the problem is solved for me.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one.
I wanted to try this in clean Windows 11 VM but seems like there is no point since I'm not the only one with this problem.

My Windows language is English, by the way

Anyway, I came with similar solution to what the AI suggested you (editing the left double click action in "File Types", I simply added "{allfilepath$}" there).
