Windows 8.1 RT on Microsoft Surface

Wondering if there is a version of Opus that will run on my new Windows Surface tablet with Windows 8.1 RT?

There is no RT version, at least today.

Opus is a desktop application and will run on Windows 8 and 8.1, but not on RT. The desktop remains where our focus is, but as RT matures we will reevaluate that, of course. (Although Microsoft are showing strong signs of dropping RT entirely, from recent news reports.)

Plus alas I guess there are not enough of us for GPS to consider us.

There aren't enough Windows RT users for Microsoft themselves to consider, it seems.

Depends on who you listen to.

Mind you saying that Father Christmas is bringing me a Surface Pro 2..

@tekguru: Or have a look at the Samsung Slate 700T Series (different models available!) - cheaper, only USB 2.0 and previous i5 generation, but with docking station, BT-keyboard and also up to 6 hours power and stylus.

I never understood the RT-version... the "killer-feature" for professional tablets is a full Win 8 with Intel and USB, not RT, which will never win against iOS and Android, because it came too late!

The RT machine did me nicely as an interim machine and I still use it now. The Pro 2 will be even better for me.

Samsung I'll skip - I hate their build quality on phones and their bloatware (TouchWiz) those are enough to keep me away from their tablets.

Surface 1/2 is same quality as Samsung and - like ALL W8-tablets - cheap plastic! Nevertheless these devices are perfect for mobiltiy and "real" work, but I'll sell my Slate when first W8-tablet with an alu or magnesium chassis will be available (as long the M3-foil I put on the back has to be enough ).

Please use the Coffeeshop area if you want to talk relative merits of different hardware.

Sasa - if you wish to take the chat over to my forum where a bit of off topic woffle is not dissed feel free.

You can talk about whatever you like (within reason) in the appropriate area, just not in Help & Support as it gets in the way of people looking for help with Opus.

I hardly think that is unreasonable.

I've locked the thread since you seem unable to control yourself.
