Opus not working anymore

Hi,
How come my Opus doesn't work anymore? I recently installed a system tune-up program (TweakNow PowerPack) and I think it probably deleted a file needed for Opus. I then disinstalled Opus, reinstalled it and it still won't open at all. How can I fix this problem??
Thanks
Samito

Perhaps you should inquire with the folks from TweakNow PowerPack.
Personally, I would be very careful with such things. Did it affect
Explorer as well?

Hello,
No, it didn't affect Explorer.

What's this link for?? It goes back to this same thread!
Do you have any idea how I can disinstall it and reinstall it so that it works??
Thanks,
Samito

Were you using a registered or an evaluation version?

Does the tray icon appear briefly when Opus starts, or nothing at all?

I was using an evaluation version.

It does for a split second then vanishes.

Was the eval version close to expiring (e.g. a few days left)? We have had a few reports of this happening just before expiry but haven't been able to track it down yet. People who have been affected by this have said they could get Opus to run if they uninstalled, rebooted, then reinstalled. The problem would apparently come back next time Opus was started (requiring a repeat of the workaround), but also goes away once a full licence is bought. So if you've decided to keep Opus and it was just about to expire, you can be confident it'll work with a licence installed. If it wasn't just about to expire, though, then it may be a different issue.

It happening just after a registry "cleaning" program was run reminds me of a similar issue from a long time ago which turned out to be caused by COM components which Opus relies on (and are part of Windows) being removed from the registry by other programs. I'm not sure where to start with fixing that, though.

That's right, it was about to expire. But since it won't start at all anymore, how can I fix the problem??

How can I know for sure that the problem will be solved with a new license??

Thanks for your help,

Samito

People have said that uninstall, reboot, reinstall, run opus has got it working again for them, for long enough to load the licence file.

It is possible the problem will remain, but in the 10 or so cases I've heard of like this where someone had the problem, installing the licence fixed it in all cases.

As I said, I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled a number of times. I don't even get any option to install a licence, so how could I possibly reinstall it and have it work?
