1) Tabs along top? 2) How to change taskbar icon?

Hi. I'm new to DOpus and took a few days to comb through the forums and I found answers to many questions. Can't believe how easy it is to figure things out with DOpus! But I have a few questions I didn't find answers for. Here are 3 (possibly only 2, though):

  1. The tabs go along the bottom by default. How can we change tab position to go along top instead?

  2. How can we change the taskbar icon? Not the systray icon. I figured out how to get rid of that. I'm referring to the icon DOpus shows on the taskbar for any open item. I find the round bubble thing with collar not to my personal liking.

  3. I figured out how to change colours and standardize everything in the listers so I'm really happy with that. What I couldn't find was how to standardize the way the taskbar icon looks by choosing an image of our choice (like in the toolbars where we can pick our own pictures for everything). Open items show up as different colours where the bubble part is red or yellow or grey. I'd like to just replace all these with one graphic for all types. If the answer to 2) above affects this and it all becomes one colour because the taskbar icon comes from one source image, then this 3rd question doesn't need an answer.

Thanks in advance. 8)

  1. Preferences - Listers - Folder Tabs - Display Folder Tabs at the top.

  2. Nope - not from any Opus setting anyway.

  3. The colours are indicating source, destination, off and dual listers - a useful function which would be lost by just having one icon. You can change the icon so that it always uses the same colour though.

Via Preferences - Display - Colors & Fonts, selecting Lister window icon from the Item drop-down.

Thank you! It's obvious once you know how. I knew they'd be in the preferences somewhere. I guess I was tired and no longer functioning on all cylinders.

Changed the tabs to the top, that's easier for me.

Re the taskbar icon, that's a shame. I'd really have liked to make the icon a different one, to be a windows folder icon, since I work as much at home as I do at the office and like to keep things "looking" similar to the standard windows style. This mimicking makes things easier for me switching back and forth. But it's only one of two "flaws" I've come across so far in DOpus and that's a good record. I'm happy. I'll just have to get used to this one.

Just wanted to further add that DOpus is the best windows explorer replacement I've found so far and I've tried a ton. Windows XP's explorer is such crap and I really have been missing my stable, and completely functional Win98SE one. DOpus seems to have given me back that control and ease of use along with the stability and reliability I'd been missing so long since I've been using XP. And by so easily being able to back up the settings and themes, I'm feeling doubly secure. Cheers.
