Hi. I’m encountering a 40 character limit on tab names. When I click on a tab name to get into “tab name edit mode” and start typing, DO stops accepting characters after 40. However, I can set a tab name to something much longer than 40 via “Go TABNAME " (I tried 68 characters and it worked). Is there a setting somewhere that will allow me to increase the 40 character manual editing limit or is that a hard limit? Also, what is the max length for tab names (via “Go TABNAME ")?

Why do you want to set a really long name?
Anyone using tabs with 40 characters should be sent into the Judean desert to be tempted by the devil for 40 days.
As far as I know Go TABNAME doesn't enforce a maximum length; when creating an edit control it's usual to set a maximum length for that and the 40 chars was picked somewhat arbitrarily (but as others have said, 40 really should be enough). The tab display itself will also enforce a maximum width for individual tabs.
Is there a reason you'd want to edit tab names to be longer than 40? We could certainly increase that if so.
