okay....panda AV craps out mid scan and now I have a cat in a hat swinging a bat at DO....cute though...Any ideas...before I fdisk?

Re-download Opus from the GPSoftware website and reinstall.

Sounds like you need a much better AV program. Nod32 is the best of the paid offerings imo and currently Avira is getting good results for a free program.
