Ability to change application icon

I'd just like to reiterate the request that has been discussed in this thread since 2010, but couldn't respond there because the thread was locked. It would be great if Dopus could change the icon that appears in the taskbar (aka the application icon), without requiring pinning it to the taskbar & leaving "combined icons" to be enabled.

The reason given in that thread for this not being necessary is because "you'll just get used to the icon."

  • The exact same argument could be made for many of DO's customizeability. i.e. customizing colors also isn't necessary, nor is having icon sets for the toolbar icons - yet those are provided.
  • There is an actual functional reason to want this, beyond just preference: when moving back and forth between a PC with Dopus and one without it (e.g. a personal and work computer), it's much less intuitive to have two different icons for the notion of the "file explorer." The eye naturally gets used to picking out one icon among a cluttered taskbar, but if you frequently swap between PCs that use different icons, it's far more cumbersome. So yes, if all your PCs use Dopus, you'll definitely get used to it. If they don't, being able to customize this (like every other less-impactful icon can be customized?) would ease the friction of system context switches.

Preferences / File Displays / Title Bar / Current folder's icon

Amazing!! Thanks for the reply
