Access network media player device via Dopus

Just bought an AC Ryan media player which I have been working my way around the past couple of days and finally got it to transfer files over the cable network from the PC to the actual player from within the player, but now I want to try and copy files from the PC to the player across the network via the PC

I can access the internal hard drive of the media player by simply using "file://///192.168.1.4/hdd1/" from my web browser and that works perfectly, but if I try to access it directly via the same method using the built-in FTP server on Dopus it fails. I assume this is down to teh simple fact that is trying to FTP it and can't

I don't want to install any FTP software on the media player, but would prefer to try and get Dopos to see it as a device, then I can do simple file copy or delete without having to resort to the media players interface or having to unplug it and connect it to the PC directly via USB

I've tried creating a new network device via Win7 but it complains that it can't find the share on the network, I know it will be something simple relating to the file://///192.168.1.4/hdd1/ command but have no real clue how to create the device in Dopus listers or favourites

Thanks

Just a quick update, just tried using file://///192.168.1.4/hdd1/ in Win7 and it accesses the device instantly and it treats it as a folder so I know I can use Win7 if I get desperate for file copying or deleting but would much prefer to access it via Dopus

file://///192.168.1.4/hdd1/ is URL to a directory, suitable for web browsers.

You don't need the file://// part within a file manager, and would normally use backslashes instead of forward-slashes. In other words, try this:

\192.168.1.4\hdd1\

Problem now solved with a bit of help from the AC Ryan forum relating to Win7 sharing and network access a bit of a pain, and also applying some registry key changes to force win7 allow more network access than it usually does via the windows settings
