I have a "Libraries" button on the toolbar, but it doesn't include "Downloads".
What's the best option for me to go to my default "Downloads" folder?
Downloads isn't a library in Windows by default. You can make new libraries and add any folders you want to them, if that's where you want it.
If you don't actually want a library, the /downloads
alias in Opus will take you to the folder, without having to worry about it being in different places on different machines. You can assign that to a toolbar button, favorite, hotkey, or whatever you want.
Hi Leo.
Thanks for your reply.
How do I do the downloads alias?
It sounds like the best option as it will be the same on each machine.
Aliases can be used (almost) anywhere a path can be used.
What do you want to do with it?
Whatever gives me quick and easy access to save me having to browse.
I have had this toolbar setup for a long time, and I am happy with it, except it doesn't have "Downloads".
If you edit any of those, they probably run commands like go /mycomputer
and go /desktop
Add a similar button which runs go /downloads
(You can also drag the downloads folder to the toolbar while editing it, to create a button which goes to it. That works for almost any folder.)
I just dragged the downloads folder to the toolbar. It worked.
I see that it doesn't have go /downloads
in the function. It has: Go PATH="C:\Users\Admin\Downloads"
Admin is my username.
It might be better to have a button that works on any username.
Maybe I should change it to go /downloads
.
I changed it to go /downloads.
Working good.
Thanks Leo.
I'll have to have a look at aliases and how to use them.
