I would like to be able to create backup jobs for archives.
Please give more detail.
Well winzip and powerarchiver allow you to create backup jobs with date and time. Basically you add what folders or files you want backed up and it does it for you. You can specify time and date for the job to happen, if required.
I'd use the task scheduler but for an Opus solution, you could use Backup Reminder as a base.
That basically says that Dopus doesn't really want to support archivers. Wouldn't it be better to include all these tools within Dopus then you won't have to say compatibility issues if they change something. The whole point of a file manager was to make it easier than explorer to use.
Not sure where this idea comes from. We support a large number of archive formats.
I suggested an archive backup tool and was needed within Dopus and people suggested tools outside Dopus saying it wasn't needed. In Dopus you have the basic archive tools. Supporting loads of archive is all good, but to truly support archiving you need to add features that rival if not better the competition. If you look at say Ashampoo zip pro they are now adding really good file manager tools to its archiving package, which makes you think do you need a dedicated file manager or a file manager than does both. At the moment you don't do archive backups, but your competition does. By not adding the features that most archivers have you are lagging behind in archiving. But your archiving programs are adding better file manager tools to their programs. Windows has started to add basic archiving that rivals Dopus and have heard they will go further in time. When people suggest tools outside Dopus that tells me there is a need within Dopus for them. More you use external tools the more chance of crashing Dopus.
