ARM support

The proper question is:

Have the Directory Opus developers found an ARM computer which is worth buying for them to test it?

I have found one for me (see How to support... thread), but the choice is still very limited.

By the way, the platform is only trustworthy since November 2024, when Microsoft first published a general download source beside the x64 version.

So the first generally available version is the Windows 11 2024 Update (Version 24H2), which is also the first Windows 11 LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) version.
ARM download is on this page, x64 download is on this page.

In my case these are the files:

  • Win11_24H2_German_Arm64.iso (13 November 2024)
  • Win11_24H2_German_x64.iso (1 October 2024)

You see in the description that in both cases it also supports the installation on a virtual machine.
I bypassed the automatic installation option (including download) of the Parallels virtual machine solution because I wanted to make sure that the manually downloaded vanilla version works with the usual OOBE (Out Of Box Experience) setup, and it did.
