Artisteer thumbnails purlease!

Hi there, is it possible to get thumbnails for the artisteer programme artisteer.com/ to show in DOpus listers? A preview in the viewer would be great too.

Thumnails and previews get shown in windows 7 explorer fine, so maybe possible for DOpus. At the moment I just get a generic icon.

As Artisteer produces a website template, a visual thumbnail would be great to tell which template from which.

Here's hoping!

If thumbnails and previews work in Explorer, they should already work in Opus as well.

Have you tried with Opus 10?

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Had a look in the preferences, and found "Use shell image extraction for formats Opus does not understand", ticked to yes, and now I get thumbnails. Great!
But in the viewer pane, no luck, just a lot of numbers. Any ideas on this, or is a plugin needed?
Thanks again.

What's the actual filetype we're talking about? I have no experience with Artisteer.

It's extension is artx, details of the prog are at their website, artisteer.com/ , example file attached in a zip. It makes templates for websites, which being visual, would show up well in the viewer and be useful.
Thanks.
Example.zip (198 KB)

I've installed Artisteer in a VM, and I see what's happening.

It only installs a thumbnail handler, which is why Opus only shows the thumbnails.

The reason Explorer shows something in the preview pane is that if there isn't a viewer for a filetype, Explorer will show the file's thumbnail there instead (for some file types). Opus doesn't show thumbnails in the viewer.

Look, thanks for checking. I did notice explorer showed a thumbnail rather than a proper 'view'.
Does this mean it isn't possible??

Someone could write a plugin (an .artx file is really a zip archive, and there's a JPG thumbnail inside, so it's a pretty simple format), but as things are now there isn't a simple setting you can change to make it appear in the viewer, no.

Sigh! Would it be easy enough for me to write a plugin? Downloaded a SDK, is there a link that makes writing one easy??

How easy it is depends on which programming language(s) you know.

English, html and css is ... um ... it!

It'd be pretty hard then.
