Hi everyone,

I have downloaded and tried Directory Opus, and I think it has the potential to become my main file management tool. However, there are a few things I would like to clarify before making a decision:

  1. Label Pane: I want to have a label pane that shows a list of all labels, but I can't find any way to achieve this view. Is there a way to automatically see the entire list of labels?

  2. Label Group Hierarchy: Is there a way to create a label group or a hierarchy of labels within Directory Opus? Additionally, is there a quick way to add labels to a file?

  3. Automated File Movement Based on Labels: I want to have a script that can automatically move files based on their labels. For example, any file labeled with #DO will be moved to the "Directory Opus" folder. Is this possible? Where can I read more about the scripting capabilities in Directory Opus? If this is not possible within Directory Opus, can Python be used to read and manage your labels?

  • Properties > Set Labels
  • Preferences / Labels / Label Definitions

  • No script is needed, you can use Find or Copy with a Filter
