Autorun Dopus from USB Stick when inserted (V9.x.x.x)

Hi.

What is the best option to autostart dopus.exe from my usb stick (flash drive) after I exported dopus to the stick?

I don't think it's possible to autorun anything from a normal USB stick.

This is why the U3 USB sticks have two drive letters, one of which pretends to Windows that it is a CD-ROM so that Windows will autorun things off of it.

If you have a U3 USB stick then you can export Opus to it and then, in the U3 menus, set Opus to be run automatically when the U3 USB stick is inserted. On a non-U3 USB stick, though, I don't think it is possible.

You can but you need to modify register in each computer
http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/156/

Or if you want you can download this
http://www.archidune.com/index.php?id=4
and install in each computer

After create autorun.inf file in usb.
Create text file, insert...

[autorun] open = \DOPUS\DOPUS.exe
...rename file to autorun.inf.
And if you want, you can hide this file.

Check out PortableApps. I installed the base version (ie without any of the bundled free portable applications) and am generally quite pleased with it. There are some rough edges (you can't, for example, edit the list of *.exe files listed, which is annoying but a fix is in the works) but it's under development and fixes are in the pipeline.

Caveat: you need to move DOpus' installation folder from you USB root to a location UNDER the PortableApps folder. This is how PortableApps picks up executables and lists them for you. At the moment, you can't define the installation path for DOpus portable, but I am told that this may be changed in a future release.

EDIT: sorry, got off on a tangent a bit and neglected to note that PortableApps won't let you autorun DOpus, but it will set itself to autorun and will then offer you a list of portable apps on your USB stick to autorun. It does this from a taskbar notification area icon that you click - see screenshots at the link for it...

So now I have a U3 device, F: (U3cdrom) and G: (U3drive)...

I have exported Dopus to G:.... But now how to add Dopus to the launchpad, it only allows me to add U3 packages from "my computer"....

I'm a little bit puzzled....

Or I should RTFM.....

Found it, on page 27 of the PDF manual file.....

Thanx for all the help.
