I've been playing with DO9 for a couple of days now, having moved from Powerdesk after a lot of years. In general, I like what I see, but the sheer magnitude and complexity of configuration possibilities is a bit overwhelming at times.
One area I'm having difficulty with is the Pathbar. I'm not sure what I did to it, but it's gone totally blank. I've browsed through a lot of FAQ and message entries, but I haven't seen anything that's helped in fixing it.
There's no "location" indicator or anything else, just a blank bar. It doesn't matter if it's docked or floating; it just stays blank.
Given that I'm new to this (still eval mode), please keep answers simple (it sucks being a noob at anything...).
you could go into customize mode (right click on a free space & chose "customize" or per -> settings -> customize) & find the "location" command, which is in charge for your location bar. You can view the settings by right clicking on it & chose edit. The argument should read something like
What I see in the customize dialog does not offer any sort of "location" selection; what am I missing?

Please look in -> customize -> [Tab] commands -> all commands -> & type "path" into the filter field on the lower left. A bunch of "path field" command icons will be returned, all having that CLI look with a "C:" in it.
You can drag one of them, preferably the most basic one ("path field" only), to your toolbar, wherever you want it.
That was the key I needed to make it work. I wish it was a bit more intuitive, but I think I have a handle on making DO9 serve as a good replacement for what I've been using. I'm sure I'll have other questions but for now I'm happy.
