Bug report - Webroot detects false positive?

Webroot barked at me when I installed dopus12

That's a bug report for Webroot

So it is not at all relevant to your developing?

No, it is a mistake in their antivirus product, not something we are able to fix nor that would be our responsibility to fix even if we could.

If you search the forum you'll see that Webroot keeps detecting or blocking parts of Opus for various incorrect reasons, none of which any other antivirus product agrees with it on, due to faults in its detection methods which detect things that aren't malware as if they were.

Every antivirus has false positives, of course. None are prefect, but it is Webroot that is at fault here.

If you see false positives from your antivirus you should report them to the vendor so they can improve it. There is nothing we can do on our side, since it is not our side that is going wrong and we have no real idea why Webroot is misdetecting things, especially in stuff like the WMA plugin DLL of all things (which has not changed in years, and has nothing inside it that should look anything like malware).

If in doubt, upload the same DLL to VirusTotal to get a picture of what all the other antivirus scanners make of it.

Thank you.

yes it is very strange especially if you haven't changed the plugin in years, I thought it had been updated for Do12.

Webroot has been contacted.

It's been re-compiled with a newer C++ compiler, and the version number has changed, so the DLL is not byte-for-byte the same as it always was, but there are no differences that should arouse an antivirus tool.
