By the way - can any admin split this to two separate subjects - my fault that I talk about FTP in post about ZIP.
And please let me know about that FTP - is work or not (that access I give).
I receive no answer to my PM with FTP details, so I'll wait until tomorrow and if no one want to check this problem, I'll remove FTP account.
Any answer will be welcome.
I haven't had a change to try it yet. As already explained, I'm doing this in my spare time as is everyone else at this forum. It's a weekend, I have a cold and I've been very busy the last few days (not just helping you & others with other questions here; I have a job to do, i.e. the thing I get paid to do, unlike helping people here which I do in my free time).
As said before, this is not the official support channel for Opus. Do not nag people here; they are helping in their spare time and nagging people just annoys them and makes them less likely to feel helpful. If you want official support then contact the official support channel; the link is in my signature. (But keep in mind they are busy people too, and people are on christmas holidays at this time of year, so you may not get an instant response.)
I just want to know that you receive that FTP site/login/password and will be usefull or not. I never say that I want to make this quick, just want this small info, nothing more. I think that is similar when you help someone and wait for confirmation that your advice helps or not and all you get is silence.
As Leo said, the forums are not official support and you cannot, and should not, expect responses to your questions immediately. Patience would go a long way here.
I've tried uploading the same file to the same site twice now, once on a 64-bit machine running a beta version of Opus and once on a 32-bit machine running the 9.5.6.0 release version, and (after 3 hours of uploading each time) in both cases the file uploaded fine without getting stuck at the end.
I've also tried setting up an FTP server on my LAN and uploading to that in a couple of ways, without any problems.
So if there is a problem there must be more to triggering it... Perhaps network drivers, router, firewall, some difference with the account settings on the server side (e.g. different connection timeouts). Hard to say, but whatever it is I'm unable to reproduce the problem.
FWIW, I used PASV mode for the connections.
Ok, that must be true - now everything works ok. That may be something wrong with FTP server before, I don't know exactly but now I check upload that file both methods - passive and active. And works perfect.
Maybe a little option to prevent that freezing (caused by bad FTP or other problems that are not related to Opus) will be useful? Something like "max freezing time"?
But thank you for testing and thank you for your time.
Back to that "looping" zip problem - today, when I use add to filename.zip (just 280MB) opus zip starts to loop creating his temp file again, so it's not just difference between "add to zip" and "add to filename zip". I can't give you that files unfortunatelly and can't create fake files to reproduce that problem.
