Button to Colouring Labels

I have many hundreds of audiobooks kept on an external drive and it’s hard to keep track of which books I’ve read.

Ideally, what I would like is, when I’ve navigated to the folder containing the book (file) and highlighted it, is there a way to make a button that would set the label colour?

This is to automate having to go to Settings/ Preferences/ Favorites and Recent/ Files and Folder Labels. Then use the Drop-down on ‘Labelled Files and Folders to find each file and then colour it.(I’d choose Red to signify that the book has been read).

If I only had a few to do I’d happily use this method but there are lots.

I realise it’s asking a lot but any / all help will be greatly appreciated.

Labels in the manual shows how to set them via the default toolbars. (The menu can be moved around if you want even quicker access to it.)

Set File & Folder Colors/Labels via Context Menu shows how you can add the same to right-click context menus.

Sorted!! I really appreciate your help.

I must be improving as it only took three attempts to get it right.

For some reason I go all wimpy when I think about going into the innards of Dopus, even though I've backed up my configuration, but Leo's examples made it quite simple.

Thanks again.
