Reduced startup overhead of Preferences search cache when it's already up to date.
Is this what was preventing Drive C from showing in the tree for around 1 minute?
Has been very obvious for at least ver 13

No, the caching during startup was only introduced in the beta before this one.
Does the C drive show up in File Explorer and everywhere else but not in Opus, or is the problem system-wide?
What happens if you navigate to C: (or a folder below it) in Opus when it's not showing in the tree?
How do you have the tree configured? (Preferences / Folder Tree / Expand/Collapse)
I will probably have to try that tomorrow when I have the problem to see how explorer works
I have a C drive button on my toolbar that seems to work easily enough, which has allowed me to bypass the problem until it shows in the the tree
Explorer shows drive C and works fine, while it's not showing in the drive tree on DOPIS

works fine with a C drive button on the toolbar
Let me add that this is an SD and not an HD drive for drive C
Is the tree just hiding C:\ unless you're in/below C:? If so, how do you have this page configured:
Preferences / Folder Tree / Expand/Collapse
Yes , as far as I know
The only other thing maybe worth mentioning is that my system has 2 drives - an SD and an HD
The C drive is also drive 1, rather than drive 0 where the D drive is located
Leo's asked twice how you have a particular Preferences page configured, could you please answer? He's not just asking for the fun of it.
I have Populate Content for local devices only
If that is what yu want
Please show us the Preferences page so we can see all of the settings on it.
Now what ?
Try setting it to populate for all devices.
If you still see the problem, does it also affect what’s shown in This PC in the file display?
Are other programs also taking a while to show the drive?
Do you have any Global Filters set in Opus? Those can hide tree branches.
Interesting q1uestion
I set it when I had a flash connected daily
I will try tommorrowmoring or when I see the problem
I have no global filters that I know of
No other programs taking time regularly that I know of
The individual settings for Autonomously Expand did not work
Unchecking Automatically Expand did work
But it still fails to explain why the C drive takes so long to show over the D drive with that setting
any new ideas ?
