Can Not Display AppData Folder

I can not get Opus to display the AppData folder. I have a small lock symbol on the folder for the user I want to display the AppData for.
I can display the AppData folder using other directory tools.
Can anyone explain the lock displayed on the user folder and also tell me what I need to do to display the AppData folder?

Can you view it using Windows Explorer?

It's probably permissioned for the user it is for, and not for your own account, as is normal for user-profile folders.

The lock icon comes from Windows and isn't specific to Opus. It generally means the folder has more restrictive permissions than its parent.

Thanks for the quick response.

I can not see it using Windows Explorer. I can see it using Q-Dir, a directory tool I used prior to Opus.

The folder in question has full permission.

Do you mean the folder itself isn't visible, or that if you try to go into it you get an error?

The folder AppData is not visible. The parent folder, the user folder above it has a lock displayed on it.

Try turning off the option Preferences / Folders / Folder Display / Hide hidden files. And if it still doesn't show in the tree, turn on Preferences / Folder Tree / Contents / Hidden and system folders.

I did that with no effect. I also tried both options turned on and both turned off. None of these settings had an effect.

What happens, if you type /appdata [ENTER]?

That was going to be an early suggestion of mine, but that trick just goes to the current user. It seems that the questions is about getting at another user's appdata.

I have no problem getting at different users' AppData. But that is probably because I have the shares set to allow access. My "Root" Users file is shared.

I do appreciate the help, sorry it took so long to back to the forum.

The suggestion to turn on Preferences / Folder Tree / Contents / Hidden and system folders, did work. However I did not see the change until I rebooted the computer.

So now I know if I don't see the AppData folder for current user I have to turn on "Hidden and System Folders" in the Preferences / Folder Tree / Contents.

FWIW, a reboot should not be required after changing that setting. You wouldn't normally even have to manually refresh (F5) the tree.

It appears you are correct. I went back unchecked the box and hit apply and it went away. I then rechecked the box and hit apply and it reappeared without rebooting. Something else going on in my computer before, something that was conflicting with Opus? I don't know.
