Can not open Start Menu Folders after Opus Install

First off, Im not positive Opus caused this. Its maybe coincidental timing

If I choose START->ALL PROGRAMS, I see the normal list of folder. When I select anyone of them and right mouse click and choose OPEN or EXPLORE, I expect to see a window open up showing all items in that folder. Instead I see an hourglass for 2 seconds and then nothing happens.

Thus, I cant open any start menu folders such as startup, to add/delete new shortcuts.

I disabled OPUS explorer replacement and rebooted, and now the problem still continues.

Perhaps there is a registry problem so that the open and explore menu choices dont launch correctly.

Does anyone have any idea on how I may fix this?

Try the .reg file in this post:

[Using DO with admin rights)

That will restore Explorer as the program associated with folders. If you still have problems afterwards it's probably something else, although I'm not sure what.

My Start Menu breaks all the time; sometimes it won't even open the top level and (beyond animating the button) ignores clicks on the Start button. It's very frustrating and I haven't been able to work out what causes it. Nobody else I know seems to experience it either... Killing and restarting all instances of Explorer.exe fixes the problem, though, so I think it's just a bug in Explorer in my case.
