Can the Viewer Pane display a Windows shortcut .lnk file?

Windows creates shortcut files with extension .lnk. Selecting 'Properties' via a Right-click allows the details of the shortcut to be displayed - the 'Shortcut' tab is the most important, because it gives the details of the 'Start in' directory and the target programme.

Is there any possibility of a plugin that displays some of the details contained in the 'Properties' tab? It would be most convenient for the 'Shortcut' tab to be displayed in the Viewer Pane.

To see shortcut targets, just turn on the Description column.

I don't think there's a way to see the Start In directory (without opening the Properties window).

The viewer won't view .lnk files; it will view what they point to.

Thanks for this - I thought so - too many ambiguities. And after all, it is only a couple of extra keystrokes to 'Properties'.

Thanks for the tip about the 'Description' column.
