Can You Use Alias for a Network Drive?

I have gone into Preferences and linked network drive with aliases.

When I open the Folder Tree, the network drive is shown with the pathname. Is there a way to only show the Alias for the Folder Tree instead of the entire pathname? eg. //networkdrive/Storage is what is shown but would like to just show Storage or F: Storage.

If the UNC path (\\NetworkDrive\Storage) is mapped to the F:\ drive letter, then point the alias at that if it's what you want to go to.

I'm sorry but I clearly didn't provide enough details and so I wasn't very clear. In my left Folder Tree Pane, I have set my Folder Tree so it starts with Drives (rather than Desktop, This PC, and Current Drive). . So, it looks like this:

It's almost perfect except for one annoying detail. I know this sounds really anal but I want to get rid of the ugly pathnames for the network drives. Is there a way to change the pathnames after the network drive letters? For example, can I change E: (\\NetworkDrive\Our Movie Collection) to just E: (Our Movie Collection)?

In an attempt to do this, I created an alias for the network drive folder, E: (\\NetworkDrive\Our Movie Collection). The alias is Our Movie Collection. I did this for all the other network drives. However, the folder tree didn't change at all after I created the aliases. Nothing happened.

What did change is when I go into Menu Settings => Preferences => Folder Tree => Contents, there is a list of folders that I can make appear in the Folder Tree Pane. If I checkmark Folder Aliases, it will display this folder in this fashion:

This is not exactly what I'm looking for. Look below for the entire resulting mess. The first is the Aliases Folder that doesn't have the C: and D: drives and doesn't expand. And, I also have a Folder Tree that has drives that do expand but most of them have these ugly long pathnames.

All I want it to look like is this. Is this too much to ask?

Is there any way to make it look like this? Replace the pathnames for the aliases?

Aliases have no effect on how drives are displayed.

The options for how drives are displayed in the tree are here:

Those are the only choices, at least at present.

Network folders can directly get renamed in the tree.
