CBR/CBZ file count

I would like to add a column to display the number of files inside CBR/CBZ files, but I'm having some problems.

If I add .cbr and .cbz to Zip Extensions, I can see file counts for CBZ files, but not for CBR files. Additionally, this forces DOpus to generate thumbnails for these files instead of CBX Shell.

If I use the CBR/CBZ archive plugins I can see file counts for both CBZ and CBR, but this also overrides CBX Shell.

Is there a way to display file counts for both CBR and CBZ, but continue using CBX Shell to generate thumbnails?

.CBR files are RAR archives so you definitely should not add them to the list of Zip archive extensions.

The CBR and CBZ (and CB7) archive plugins should give you custom thumbnails for those formats, showing the covers of the books:

Is that not working for your archives, or do you want something different? What does CBX Shell do for the thumbnails?

I do get thumbnails with the CBR/XBZ archive plugins, but I have several little nitpicks about how it handles things.

  1. I use Labels to change default icons for archive files and comic files, but with the CBR/CBZ archive plugins enabled, all my comic files are treated as archives, and display my archives file icon.
  2. The thumbnails generated by the CBR/CBZ archive plugin have no white border, and they add a shadow overlay that I don't care for. With CBX Shell, comic thumbnails look like all my other thumbnails (except for PDFs - damn those ugly Adobe-generated PDF thumbnails!)
  3. With the CBR/CBZ archive plugin, if the images within the archive are inside a folder, the thumbnail fails to display. CBX Shell handles these just fine.
