One of the music subdirectories that I have just created displays (in thumbnail view) as a CD Jewel Case with the album artwork (saved in the folder) showing as if it were a real CD case.
I have no idea how I did this.
All the other album subdirectories (all containing cover art) show as the traditional 'folders containing art' thumbnails.
Does anyone know how to do this in Directory Opus 10.0.2? It's a really cool effect, and I'd like to change all my music folders to look like this.
Don't do what Abr suggests unless you want every folder with a folder.jpg to display as a CD (you probably don't).
You can either copy the folder.jpg files to coverart.jpg or open the Properties dialog for each folder and set it to be handled as a music folder. Either method will force Opus to treat the folders as music albums even if they do not contain a majority of music files.
(The Properties dialog method may require you to be using the latest beta version of Opus as it is a recent change.)
Thanks for your help guys, but going to properties/customize and setting the folder type doesn't seem to change the folder icon at all.
The containing folder, and all sub-folders are set to music, all folders have an .jpg image for cover art, and it looks normal, except for the one folder which looks like a CD Jewel Case!
(I would include a picture, but I can't work out how to add one to this post).
Perhaps you used the "quick reply" button? If you use the full editor ("POSTREPLY"), you can see a set of options right above the edit window.
Use "Img" to include links (like from Imageshack), which will be shown as images in your posting.
Are you using the latest beta version of Opus? (As mentioned, you need to for that method to work as it's a recent change made after 10.2.0.0. The link to the latest beta version, currently 10.2.0.8, is in my signature.)
Or, did you try the other method? (copy the folder.jpg files to coverart.jpg)
leo, thank you for the advice and the link. It turns out that I wasn't using the latest beta after all. I will try it using the latest beta when I get back from work tonight.
Ok, changing the names of all the album art .jpgs to "coverart.jpg" now changes the folder icons to CD Jewel Case icons, but setting the directory type to 'Music' makes no difference. Wish I knew why the first one changed...
