Change in Folder Formats of Tab Groups in Version 9

I recently upgraded from version 8.2.2.5 to version 9.5.4.0. I have read the FAQ "HOW TO: Understand and Configure Folder Formats" and my specific situation isn't addressed there.

In version 8, I had many tab groups. They all have, for all of their tabs (folders), the widths of the Column / "Displayed fields" blank, and also the box at the top of the Columns panel is unchecked. Under version 8, this caused Opus to use the Custom or Local Drives folder format to determine the width of the displayed columns. Under version 9, it appears that the Default Folder Formats are never used for tabs that are opened via tab groups. Instead, some internal default column widths (such as 160 for filename), which don't come from any of my defined formats, are used if a specific number for the width doesn't exist in the tab group definition.

My question is: Can I do something to make version 9 use a Default Folder Format (or any other single format that I can edit) for column widths when they are blank in the tab groups? The narrow columns look pretty bad currently.

Thank you.

Ron

There is an auto-size columns on the Display tab. Is that turned on?

auto-size columns is turned off (unchecked).
