Change the mouse highlight style

Can we have options to change the mouse and selected/current file selection? It have been many times when I'm selecting a file and my mouse cursor resides on an item, confusing me and sometimes I have to redo an operation (when possible). Look in the attached example, the difference is barely visible.

Those aren't the standard colors from Opus or Windows, so I'd say you've changed them already.

You can change colors under Preferences / Display.

I see nothing about the color of mouse selection tho? As per my request's title.

The file and folder colors can specify selection colors.

Hmm... I was not clear. I'm talking about a "Mouse hover" event. The picture shows a selected row and a mouse cursor hovering the other row. These are hard to discern. In these setting you have basically "selected vs unselected" files or folders. I suggest one more setting about "mouse hover" or at least some way to adjust that style.

Ah, I see what you mean.

At the moment the way "hot" items are drawn is determined by the Color Blending / Visual styles override file selection colors setting:

  • If it's on, the system-wide Visual Style determines how those items look. Should match what File Explorer looks like.

  • If it's off, the chosen selection colors in Opus are faded by a fixed amount.

In the 2nd case, we could make the amount configurable, if it would help. (I think completely separate text and background colors for hot items would be too much trouble for people to configure for all the different file/folder/attribute types, but changing the blending amount wouldn't be too difficult.)

I support the 2nd case suggestion of making the amount configurable.

A configurable alpha would be at least some help. Ideally, it is a different style, but... :man_shrugging:
