Chrome.exe opened from Dopus is Showing Tiny Toolbar Icons and Small Bookmark Text

How can Dopus open Chrome and show same way as when Chrome.exe opens from Windows File Manager?

Details:

When launching Chrome.exe from Dopus (item in the lister or button in a toolbar), the chrome browser shows the address bar with small text and tiny toolbar icons.

When opening / launching Chrome.exe from Windows 11 File Explorer, or from the desktop the text and icons show in the correct size.

Comparison of Dopus initiated Chrome Toolbar vs File Manager initiated Chrome Toolbar:

Additional Info:
There are no "Compatibility" settings for the Chrome.exe.

Replication Steps:
Environment: 4K Display, Win 11, AMD Video Card

File Manager:

  1. Close any running instances of Chrome.exe
  2. In Windows File Explorer, navigate to: C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application
  3. Select Chrome.exe then Right click context menu and choose Open.

Dopus:
Open a lister then perform same steps as for File Manager.

That doesn't happen here with Chrome 111.0.5563.111 (latest version according to its update checker) and Windows 10, trying with various DPI combinations/mixes across monitors.

Which process launches an app shouldn't affect what the app does, either. DPI modes are not inherited from one app to another when launching something. It's entirely up to Chrome how it handles DPI scaling. So this seems like either a bug in Chrome or a bug in Windows (11).

Tried on Win11, 4K, Intel UHD770 - no difference between Opus and FE. I have been launching Chrome from Opus for years and have never seen anything like that.

One possible solution is to add the command-line option --force-device-scale-factor=1 to the Chrome shortcut that you are using in Directory Opus.

What about for dopus.exe ?

As usual, you solved another mystery!
The Compatibility settings for Dopus were set to Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: System (Enhanced) as shown here:
dopus-compatibility settings

Disabling this checkbox enables launching Chrome.exe from Dopus to work as expected.

Thank you!
