click the text in viewer window, the caret is not set correctly(caret is not at click position).
or click viewer window to select a text , it will fail
Not sure it is a bug. The first click gives it input focus and leaves the cursor where it was. If you want to move the mouse cursor, you can then click again after the window is active.
This is useful if you were in the process of selecting something, and had to click another window, for example. Keep in mind the text viewer is designed for the preview pane and not for the standalone viewer. It works in both, but there are better text editors/viewers out there if you want a separate window for it, and Opus won't open text files in the standalone viewer (e.g. from double-click) unless you ask it do explicitly.
@Leo useful?
it require user to click twice to select text and copy it.
yes, text viewer is designed for the preview , but sometimes users need to copy text.
copy is not edit.
@Leo who need this? please provide post link from them.
what is the meaning of keeping selection or position ?
if they want , they can click window title instead of text area , ok?
in addition, which situation is more common?
click twice? you dont think its annoying?
what a bull sh it design, like double-click will always trigger single-click in viewer
if you can not do text preview well, don't limit user to use only built-in preview plugin ,ok?
I do need this.
Giving focus without changing what's selected or where the caret is is the expected and actual behaviour of many editors which have lost focus.
@PassThePeas
it is right,
BUT
the way to Give focus is not by clicking edit area, but by pressing alt-tab or Clicking window title bar.
if you click EDIT AREA in many those editors, they will set caret at where you click.
what is the purpose of keeping selection or position in Read-only window?
