When the utility panel is open, an error happens, the red circular ! symbol in the bottom right corner of the lister is shown, and you click on it, the symbol doesn't go away, not even after clearing the script log. You have to close and reopen or shrink and expand the utility panel for it to go away.
When the utility panel isn't shown, clicking on the symbol removes it.
