Is it possible to close Dopus by just hitting only the ESC key instead of the red X in the top right corner of the window?
This does not look like the best idea, as the ESC key is already used in many situations to cancel the current action.
Some examples come to mind:
- Cancelling inline rename in progress
- Cancelling/Closing some dialogs
- Cancelling button editing ... which will occur if you try to set ESC as the shortcut key.
So in the end, I'm not sure it's technically possible to specify such key but I do think it's probably going to lead to unwanted side effects.
Otherwise, for another key shortcut, this can be achievable through the Close command.
You could add Esc as a hotkey to the command for that in the File menu, but I agree with PassThePeas rhat it might be too easy to trigger by accident when pushing Esc for other reasons.
I think it's there mainly to show the hotkey in the menu.
Yes... I once placed a script there and was quite irritated when that thing just refused to run properly ![]()
