Column sort indicator when holding shift?

I discovered this behavior by accident today.

Ways to reproduce

  • Hold "SHIFT"
  • Click "Name" column label once while holding SHIFT

You can see the sorting triangle indicator pointing left or right

It's a feature, it lets you sort by extension without having the extension displayed as a separate column.
