It's definitely unfortunate that Samsung are putting path separators into device names there. 
If you want a quick fix, which has several other benefits as well (e.g. not needing to plug the phone into the PC at all), switching to FTP or SFTP for Android file transfers is my recommendation. It works much better, at least on phones + wireless networks with decent bandwidth (which is most these days, I think).
