Context Image Viewer

Is there a way to see an image in the right context menu when you right click an image? It'd really help when searching for pics, instead of clicking each one and opening the normal image viewer per pic/folder.

In the options -> file types dialogue you can edit the tooltips that can be shown when hovering over an item (or holding the ctrl key down for a second.
There is a tab »info tips« for all file type entries. If you edit »all files and folders« or, under file type groups, »images«, you can add the thumbnails
info tip to those items.

-> settings -> files types -> »all files and folders« -> -> tab »info tip« -> (add »thumbnails«, which is the second item from the bottom).

But if you want to preview the pictures, why don´t you use the appropriate view mode for that, the thumbnails mode? It´s in the main menu at the top under views or display.

As well as the thumbnails mode Abr mentiosn (and Tiles mode, too), Opus has a preview panel for that. Turn it on and whichever file was last clicked on is visible in the window.

I use the thumbnail view normally. It just doesn't work with search. I'm hoping to find a way to quickly view pics in the search results in detail view. Right now, I have to double click to launch the viewer. Since it opens up files in their folders, any new folder result requires a closing of the viewer, and the reopening again. I prefer a quick view of any and all files. My old contetx viewer works only in 32 bit. And now I have 64 bit WIn 7. The tooltips one doe snot work.

Thumbnails should work fine with search. What are you doing, exactly?

Why isn't the preview pane suitable? Have you tried it? (View -> Viewer Pane)

The preview pane doesn't seem to appear in the search result window. I run a search, get results in detail view. But there's no way to see what any picture result is. I went to -> settings -> files types -> »all files and folders« -> -> tab »info tip« -> (add »thumbnails«, which is the second item from the bottom). But still nothing. I've even shut down my computer, and still nothing.

You could try following in the command line, for a quick check (you can open it by using shift > keys):

Set VIEWPANE=Toggle

The thumbnail trick works fine in Directory Opus itself. But the searh window seems immune to the chnages.

You need to send the search results to a collection in the Lister, not to the standalone Find window.

Ah, Jon beat me to what I was just going to say, but I can still post a couple screen grabs to illustrate what he's saying.

That finally gets me a details listng with thumbnail view. But 3 open windows, and no easy changing of searches.

Use the Find Panel in the lister rather than the standalone find (Tools / Find)

OK, now we're cooking. Thanks
