Control on top state button

I have just managed to solve a mildly annoying issue that of white boxes behind items in the preferences screen by switching off Window Blinds compatibility. However this introduces a new issue. I now have a "Control on top state" button on top of my minimize/maximize button. Its not a huge problem and I can live with it as it only seems to affect the Preferences and customize windows. But is there a way to switch this off like you can with the pin and zoom buttons?

Im not sure if white boxes behind text is preferable to overlapping window buttons.

Type pin into the preferences filter and you'll find the option.

This seems to turn off the pin on the window bar which I already have turned off as well as the zoom but the pin still shows up in the preferences window as well as the customize window even when this option is set to off. The only way I can get it to switch off completely is by switching on Window Blinds compatibility but that come at the expense of white boxes around the type as I'm using a non-windows theme (only in pref and customize windows). Does this look like another bug?

Oh and thank you never occurred to me to use the filter tool that's pretty handy to remember .

I see that I also have a pin (only) in Preferences and Customize. Never noticed that before. But it's not "on top of my minimize/maximize button". It's to the left of the minimize button. I don't even know what the minimize/maximize button is. I have what I'd categorize as a minimize button and a maximize/restore button.

I have a custom windows 7 theme on Windows XP hence the reason why it might be on top of those buttons. To clarify; In the preference window the pin is directly on top of my maximize button and partly on my minimize button. In the customize window the pin isnt on top of either. In addition the pin is very glitched. When I click on it the past state is still there. When Ive cycled through all the pin states the icon is a mix of all three images. Again this is probably just because of the custom theme. I never use the pin function and Im quite happy with the default behavior so some option to be able to turn it off would suit me fine.

As far as I can remember, the only way to disable the pin in the titlebar of prefs/customize windows is to turn on the "Windowblinds compatibility" mode (which you already know about, of course).

I think I got confused thinking the option in prefs which controlled whether the pins appeared on listers also affected prefs/customize windows, but I guess it doesn't.

(It's been ages since I've seen/configured the pins since they're disabled under Vista and Windows 7.)
