Having identified and selected a number of duplicate files using the duplicate finder GUI, is there a simple way to delete the duplicates and replace with links, thereby recovering the wasted disk space without losing easy access to the relevant base files?

I can't think of an easy way to do that. (i.e. That doesn't involve quite complex scripting or lots of manual clicking.)
A pity. It would be really neat to have this option as an alternative to deletion. I will submit an enhancement request and hope for the best....
