My Download folder contains many ".exe" files. It also has many sub-folders under it, which also contains some ".exe" files. Now I want to copy just ".exe" files from Download folder but NOT the ".exe" files which are under its sub-folders. I configured the copy file filter as under:
However when I copy, it copies the ".exe" under sub-folders also. How should I configure the filter to exclude the ".exe" lying in sub-folders?
Which folder are you in, and what is selected, when you do the copy?
How is the copy being done?
I am in the Download folder. I select any one random file to activate the Copy Button. I wanted to copy in a folder which is already open in the Destination Lister.
If you select one file and click Copy Files, that's the only file that should get copied, with or without a filter. For sub-dirs to also get copied, there must be something else being done.
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am trying to Copy using Enable Copy Filter. It copies all the ".exe" files not only from Download folder but also its sub-folder which I want to exclude.
If I use the "Full Path" Type then it copies only ".exe" lying in Download folder and not any ".exe" from its sub-folder, which is what I want.
I wonder why the "Sub-folder" Type filter (as detailed in first post) don't work as desired?

Ignoring how it's done for a moment, what do you actually want to do? Copy *.exe from Downloads to somewhere? Without selecting anything? With the source/destination folders fixed or variable?
Most of the time I use dual lister. First I open the destination folder where I want to copy, then I open the source folder. This arrangement I want to repeat in several folders, for that I tried the first method (Sub-folder Type) because I can reuse the same saved filter when I just want to copy filtered files in the main folder (ignoring its sub-folders).
I can achieve the result I want by using second filter (Full Path Type), but in that case I have to keep on editing the "Path" in the filter which I want to avoid.
Is there any way to configure the first filter (Sub-folder Type) which gives same result as the second filter (Full Path Type)?
So you’re opening two folders, but what are you selecting? How are you starting the copy? What do you want to copy and/or exclude?
I select any one file to activate the Copy (by filter) button. Then after applying the required filter I press SELECT and then CANCEL in the "File Filter" window. Now all the required files are selected. Then I press "Copy" again and press "OK" and all the filtered files are copies to the destination which I already opened.
Select only acts on the source. If you want to apply your filter to subfolders you need to use it with Copy, e.g.
Copy FILTER=myfilter
