Hi,

I think that would be an excellent idea, I for one would certainly find it very useful.
Total Files is already in the dialog - just add 'copied' and 'remaining' together.
very easy to add 'copied' and 'remaining' when you copy more than 1000 files of 400ko... it's too rapid
What do you gain from knowing the totals anyway? The dialog is busy enough without extra clutter.
okok, you don't want to add this...
personally, I prefer to know the number of total file rather than peak/avg speed...
My point is that the total number of files is available to you when you initiate the copy. Why duplicate that - and why do you need to know/care about the total number of files during a copy?
Anyway, don't forget to make a proper submission to GPSoftware - gpsoft.com.au/support.html
when you copy/move folder with sub folder (with subfolder...) total number of files is not available !!!!
when i copy file to FTP or network drive, it's very slow and sometimes it take several time (more than 1 hour). so when i start copy i can remember number of file but 45 minutes after...
You can turn on the "full" progress window for all operations if you want. I think it's only on for FTP by default but it's available for everything else as well, via Preferences.
If it's slow then it's easy to add the two numbers together.
You still haven't said why it's useful to know the total in the first place. What do you do with the number?
Yes it is - look at the Total File Count and Total SubFolder Count columns which you can add to your listers.
Sure - but it doesn't really matter how many total - after all a heap of them have been done in 45 mins, it only matters how many to go...
because when my boss says (during moving) : Thomas, how much files are you moving ?
i'm not obliged to add 'copied' and 'remaining' together, remember how many files i have selected 30min ago...
Little test here...

that's all
Okay, so you care about how many files you're moving because your boss asks you. That leads to the question: Why does your boss care about how many files you are moving?
If the copy/move is taking 30 minutes then either the files are being copied so slowly that it's trivial to add the numbers together because they're not changing often or you're copying hundreds of thousands of tiny files where it's trivial to add the big parts of the numbers together to get a good-enough estimate of the total. (If my boss cared about whether I was copying 800 files or 801 I think I'd go insane.)
I'd say about 800, from adding the 3xx to the 5xx together that I saw at one moment near the start of the video.
I'm still not convinced why the total is a useful number and not just another number to clutter up an already-busy window.

Roughly 950 - the hundreds numeral doesn't change often and stays at 200/600 for long enough to assume over 850 and below 1000. Surely your boss has better things to do than wander about counting file copies - a rough estimate would satisfy him?
