Are there any options or settings that enable copy text from a PDF displayed in the preview pane? Thanks.
Please disregard. As I was searching for a solution an old DOpus support page turned up. Pretty clear not possible with DOpus.
I did find a workaround for those interested.
- Use the Windows snipping tool (Ctrl+Win+S) for whatever text.
- Click on the snip pop up that appears.
- Select Text actions
- Select Copy all text
Pretty quick for bits of text.
It’s entirely possible, but comes down to the PDF viewer (and sometimes how the PDF was made), not Opus itself.
Opus, like Explorer, just hosts PDF viewers. What the viewers do is up to them. Some of them allow text selection and copying while others don’t.
Wouldn't be easier to just open the PDF in the first place?
I know few will probably agree, but I've always found both the preview pane and the stand alone viewer more distracting than helpful.
Nope. The workaround above is faster, for me anyway, than opening the PDF. Which is why I was looking for it. Typically I just want to scrape a phone number or account number or something like that.
