I'm using DO11 and some of the newer DDS textures have no preview thumbnails. They all use the current BC7 texture compression. I can open them in Photoshop with the Intel Texture Works plugin, but having no preview slows down my workflow tremendously.
Will upgrading to DO12 give me DDS previews for BC7 compressed files?
Do you get previews of them in File Explorer?
Are you using an Opus viewer plugin for them (there are a couple here in the plugins area, but I don't know if they handle BC7)? Or using something which also works in File Explorer?
Thanks for the quick response, Leo. I realized that i do NOT have the universal viewer plugin, and after installing it i have BC7 previews, woot! The colors are wrong, but at least i can see what's inside the DDS files directly in the thumbnails.
Given that the nVidia plugin for Photoshop is from 2012, i wonder if this one even recognizes BC7 (the screenshot looks like from Windows 7 :). Can you confirm it's working?
