Default lister not loading

I have established a Default Lister. When I open Directory Opus the first time after starting my PC, the wrong lister shows up. It tries to load a view that I must have used at some point in the past. (For example, one directory doesn't even exist presently).

I close Directory Opus.
I count to 3.
I relaunch Directory Opus.
The lister that I set as DEFAULT correctly loads. What is going on with the wrong lister showing up the first time I launch upon starting my PC?

Check under Preferences / Launching Opus / Startup, that it's set to Open the Default Lister.

The other pages in that section may also be relevant, depending on how it's being launched.

If Leo's reply doesn't help, explain exactly what you mean by close Directory Opus. If you just close the Opus window(s), Opus may still be active in the background which would mean that when you relaunch Directory Opus, it wouldn't be the same as starting the first time after starting the PC.

Leo and rcoleman1943 have the answer. I learned after the post the closing the window is NOT the same as stopping the Directory Opus processes running in the background, exactly what rcoleman1943 said.

Following Leo's advice I opened Pref>Launch>Start Up - I had a
Open a saved Lister layout enabled. (I thought that meant color scheme etc). Said layout was not the same as my default. I deleted the layout, replacing it with my default, and BOOM Bob's your Uncle, and it's running perfectly.

I want to apologize for messing up something so simple and thank Leo and rcoleman1943 for providing answers within hours of my post.
