Delete ALL during SYNC on Windows 7 64-Bit not working

Hi,

I always sync my ext. hard disc 1 with ext. hard disc 2 but with DO 9.5.6.0.3937.x64 - Windows 7 64-Bit the "Deleting from destination" does not work. I never had a problem with that on XP 32-Bit.

Note: I've just found another thread about DELETE COMMAND ... where an user has a problem on Windows 7 64-Bit only - not reproducable on XP 32-Bit !!!

All my files are READ-ONLY and I'm the owner of the files and I have admin rights on the root drives and no problem to select multiple files, etc and delete them.

Preferences / File Operations / Deleting Files:

  • Ask for confirmation before commencing delete is SELECTED.
  • Delete using the Windows Recylce Bin if possible is SELECTED.
    All others not.

The files which should be deleted DO NOT exist on hard disc 1 anymore so they should be deleted.

Sync files:

  • one way copy,
  • date (different) or size.
  • Delete files from destination that don't exist in the source is SELECTED
  • Ignore seconds is SELECTED
  • Sync sub folders is SELECTED
  • Autom. shrink panel is SELECTED

===>

  1. Press COMPARE
=> Delete from destination: 560 files, 39 folders
  2. Press SYNC
    => Nothing happens

Select
Preferences / File Operations / Deleting Files:

  • Ask for confirmation for each file before deleting => SELECT.
    Press OK.

Sync files again as above.

  1. Press COMPARE
=> Delete from destination: 560 files, 39 folders
  2. Press SYNC

Question: Really send the file "1" to the recylce bin? => DELETE
Question: Really send the file "2" to the recylce bin? => DELETE
Question: Really send the file "3" to the recylce bin? => DELETE ALL
... Nothing happens for DELETE ALL (but file "3" will be deleted!)

Sync files again as above.

  1. Press COMPARE
=> Delete from destination: 557 files, 39 folders

So DO has deleted 3 files - but not all!

Always re-producable.

Do you have the same problem deleting files in the same place via the normal Delete command?

What if you do (or don't*) use the recycle bin? (*Whichever you didn't try the first time.)

Does it only happen for read-only files?

Does it only happen with that particular drive (or even particular folder)?

I don't think the two threads are related, FWIW.
Do you have the same problem deleting files in the same place via the normal Delete command?
No.

I've just deleted the preferences "Delete using the Windows Recycle Bin if possible" and the SYNC works.
I'll be also asked to UNPROTECT all the files (confirmed) - after that all files will be deleted.

Yes - tested it - it only happens to read-only files ("Delete using the Windows Recycle Bin if possible" was SELECTED for this test).

Interesting is that when confirmation mode is active the single DELETE works via Recycle Bin - DELETE ALL does not (except the first file).
