I suddenly have what appears to be an empty folder icon - caption is a small right pointing arrow - which sits in a grayed area in the top left corner of my desktop. It obscures icons already residing on the desktop -and seems to take precedence over any other program/browser I may open. (Happy to submit screen capture if necessary) Double clicking opens a Directory Opus window - right clicking brings up contact menu starting with "New Lister" and "Opus Preferences." I have no idea how I initially might have created this and I urgently need to remove as it's in the way of many other necessary functions - however, I can find no ready instructions how to do this in either Help manual or online resources.
Please help as I'll otherwise need to uninstall what is otherwise a really useful program.
That is a drag & drop overlay left there by a program which got stuck while doing a drag & drop to the desktop.
If it doesn't go away by itself, just reboot and it will be gone.
Your clicks are actually going straight through it, and have nothing to do with the icons itself (which may in turn have nothing to do with Opus). The icon is purely visual and mouse clicks will ignore it completely.
Double-clicking an empty space on the desktop will open an Opus window (if that feature is turned on, which it is by default), which is why that happens if you double-click in that area.
If you right-click an empty space on the desktop, you see the standard desktop context menu, which Opus adds some items to, which is why that happens.
Both will happen if you click any other empty area on the desktop.
