Descriptions and hidden files

I have used Nudel's helpful suggestions and created a status info which shows the hidden files in red.

I also followed another suggestion and started to use the description tags.

As could be expected, the description file shows up now in red on the status bar, which somewhat beats the purpose of highlighting hidden files.

Is there a way to exclude the description file from the hidden files count?

No way to do this at the moment; everything that gets hidden is included in the count of hidden files.

You could send GPSoft a request to change the behaviour or add an option.

What about other commonly hidden but usually uninteresting files like Desktop.ini?

Other hidden files do not get in the way, as I rarely get to those locations...

The red info is drawing so much attention (as it was intended so), that I will have to get rid of it if I want to use descriptions. Pity, as it was quite useful when used with filters.

By the way, I do get notices of messages posted here, but the links are wrong, they lead to: ”The topic or post you requested does not exist”.

The link I got for your reply was: resource.dopus.com/viewtopic.php?p=3D18758#18758

Who do I write about that?

You could always set Opus so that the 'descrip.ion' file is not actually hidden. Not a perfect solution but it will prevent the red text from bugging you unnecessarily.

As for the broken link, what email client are you using? We've had no other reports of this happening.

Maybe unhiding is a better option...

As for the links: I usually use a mail checker, PopTray, as it is much more efficient for shorter messages. I have checked it with Thunderbird and it is, indeed, working correctly. Must be some PopTray quirk.
