That command looks like it should work, but you're right, it seems to ignore the DESELECT
argument entirely when *
is the wildcard. I've made a note to look into that in detail.
Using Select NONE
instead should work, if you want the hotkey.
But Esc has no hotkey bound to it by default. (It does have some default behavior when nothing is bound to it, but if you have a hotkey running Select * DESELECT
then that's something not part of the standard config at least.)
There is something wrong with DESELECT
in general. Select ignores it with other patterns as well. It has started in version 13.4.2.
Fixed in the next update.
