Desktop Click starts Opus in background

I am having a problem with Opus starting a new lister when I double click on the desktop. Instead of coming to the foreground (in focus), it starts in the background (behind other windows that are open). On the taskbar when this happens, Opus blinks lit-up (like it wants focus). I don't not experience this when I start a new lister from the start menu, or from the Opus icon in the system tray.

Now here is the really weird part - if I exit Opus entirely, and end the dopusrt.exe process from Task Manager, and then restart Opus, the behavior does not occur. But after a restart of the computer, the behavior is back.

Any help in fixing this?

What´s set in your -> settings -> preferences -> Opus start -> from desktop?

Do you mean it works just the first time you double-click the desktop after exiting Opus, or does it then continue to work until you restart the machine?

Try clearing Preferences / Launching Opus / Startup / Launch Directory Opus automatically on system startup, apply the change, then turn it back on again and apply once more. That should reset the way Opus is being launched at startup.

Try doing the same with Preferences / Launching Opus / From the Desktop / Disable, applying, and going back to the setting it was on before. (Which setting is it on?)

If that doesn't help, do you have anything installed that changes normal window behaviour, like multi-monitor taskbar tools or macro/window-management tools?

It does not work right until after I manually stop Opus and the dopusrt.exe process, and then start Opus back up again. But once I reboot, the problem reappears.

Do I need to reboot in between the steps above, or just apply?

So after you restart the two processes, it works from then until you reboot? i.e. It works multiple times, not just once?

Since we're testing what happens at system startup you'll need to reboot, but only once.

Change and apply, then change back and re-apply, for both settings. After doing all that, reboot once and see if things are working right after that boot.

Leo,

I have narrowed down that the culprit is a windows sizing program called Winsplit Revolution. Is there a fix that can be made?

I have no idea what Winsplit Revolution's window hooks might be doing. You're better off asking them, I think, since their hooks must be modifying standard window behaviour in some way.

Just to close this off, I believe I have found the problem. Winsplit Revolution has a function called "Drag and Go" that when I disabled it, the effect on Opus ceased.

Thanks for your help, Leo!

What does that do?

It's worth reporting the problem to the Winsplit Revolution author(s) so they know about it and might be able to fix it.
