Changes

  • Evaluator columns can now be set to display the relative size or date graph behind the column contents, just like for the built-in size/date columns.

  • If the folder tree is set to not populate contents automatically, the "Collapse folders" button in the folder tree title now removes all folders from the tree that aren't directly related to the current path (i.e. returning it to its default state). The Go TREECOLLAPSE command has a new full parameter that does the same thing.

  • Added Preferences / Miscellaneous / Advanced: [Behaviour] illegal_namechar_replace setting. Lets you specify characters to replace illegal filename chars when editing filenames (e.g. inline rename). For example, you could set < to be replaced by ( instead of simply blocking the keypress.

  • Added Preferences / Miscellaneous / Advanced: [Troubleshooting] long_operation_notify_type option. Lets you choose what sort of notification is shown for certain operations on the UI thread that take longer than expected. You can choose to show a dialog (the default), log to the diagnostic log, both or neither.

  • The Clipboard COPYCOLUMNS command now accepts the nocsv keyword to prevent strings containing commas and quotes from being enclosed in quotes (i.e. converted to CSV-safe strings).

  • The various "move up"/"move down" buttons in Preferences can now move an item to the top or bottom of its list on shift+click. Some have a drop-down menu as well (more will be added in the next version).

Fixes

  • Made a couple changes to make Alt key access to menus more compatible with standard Windows behaviour.

    • Once a menu has been opened with Alt+, you no longer need to release Alt before accelerators within that menu will work
    • If you release the Alt key and press it again, the menu is closed immediately (on key down, rather than on key up)
  • Setting custom titles for column headers in the This PC folder now works.

  • Using FileType CONTEXTMENU CONTEXTOPTIONS=windowsonly to move hidden context menu items to a sub-menu now includes UWP (Packaged COM) menu items.

  • Fixed new method of forcing on UWP context menus when hiding others.

  • Dark Mode: Adjusted default Log Error text color for easier reading.

  • Dark Mode: Fixed black-on-black text in some system message boxes after Windows 11's September update.

  • The "install updates with minimal interaction" option is now also applied when you save the installer before launching it from the update checker.

  • In the evaluator, fixed "gb" as a value of the extension field being misinterpreted as 0.

  • The "Close" command in the Script Management dialog's File menu now works.
