I just started testing Directory Opus 13.
How do I remove the black bar on the left of menus and context menus?

Turn off Preferences / Colors and Fonts / Directory Opus Colors / Use legacy Office-style toolbars.

I found it. I had to drill down further. It's under Other Colors -> Office-style.
