I was wondering why, when using application icons grouped on the taskbar, the icon for multiple instances is different to the icon for one instance?
If I have just one instance of DO running, the icon is a sphere with a white bit. If I start a second instance, the icons are grouped and the icon displayed is a the same icon with a '9' stamped on top. I'm wondering why this happens and where the new icon is coming from.
Grouping is turned on by right-click Start Menu, Properties, Taskbar tab,Group similar taskbar icons.
The icon for a single instance comes from the icon used for the window itself (i.e. it will be the same icon as you see in the top-left corner of the window).
When you group multiple windows on the taskbar the icon used comes from the default icon for the program, which is not necessarily the same as the one used for the window.
If Opus is pinned to the Win7 taskbar, you can change the icon by creating a shortcut to dopus.exe, changing the icon on the shortcut, then pinning the shortcut instead of the program itself. (Unpin the program first if it was already pinned.) After doing this you can delete the shortcut if you only created it to change the icon.
